Merry Christmas, Brethren!

A holiday message

Thought

Growing up, my mom always did her best to make Christmas awesome for me.

We had as small a family as you can have, just me and her.

Sure, I had a stepdad some of those Christmases, but he never added to the holiday for me.

With a small family, the holidays feel smaller.

As I got older, I built my own family and friendships and traditions.

With so many connections, the holidays have become immense and important moments for me.

Life comes down to 3 things:

  • What you do

  • Where you do it

  • Who you do it with

Life is the people you choose to keep close to you.

The holidays are the perfect moment to forget ourselves and care about the other.

This is a good thing.

It’s about honoring all the people who have played their part in your life.

Honor them and be grateful.

Tactic

Let’s look at a quote from the birthday boy himself:

Ask and you will receive.

Seek and you will find.

Knock and the door will be opened.

Jesus

I love this quote. If you examine it closely, it all starts with your actions.

You have to ask. You have to seek. You have to knock.

No one can or will do it for you.

The other half of the quote is a promise:

If you take the right actions, it’ll all work out for you.

After 37 Christmases, I believe this quote is true.
