Your Mental Fortress
How to become a freethinker
Thought
The man who can think for himself is powerful.
Master these 7 habits to become a freethinker:

1. Propaganda
You are bombarded with it every day.
Every piece of content seeks to influence you.
Beware of its subtle messaging, it warps your thoughts over time.
Always ask, what is their goal?
If it's not aligned with yours, reject it and cease consumption.
2. First Principles
Modern education teaches facts.
And we've all seen what the "facts" are worth nowadays.
You need to equip yourself with bedrock truth.
The things that are indisputably fundamental to reality.
These will serve as the foundation of your mental fortress.
3. Question Deeply
What are the things you believe for no good reason?
Most of your mental models are inherited.
If you've never questioned some of your deeply held beliefs, now is the time.
Examine and eliminate the incorrect
Identify and retain the useful.
4. Speak Your Mind
As Jordan Peterson said:
"In order to be able to think, you have to risk being offensive.”
Culture wants to silence you to make you conform.
Don't let them.
Tyranny dies when good men speak Truth.
5. Read Old Books
The greatest thinkers who ever walked the Earth left notes for you.
It's called the Western Canon.
They weren't trying to sell you things or influence you toward any end other than your edification.
Read it.
6. Study History
History is simply the tale of mankind.
All its blunders and victories.
All its cruelties and mercies.
You must understand where you fit in the story.
Once you understand man's story, you understand man.
This grants you vision.
7. Use Logic
Reason separates man from beast.
It's a gift from God.
With it, humanity dominated the planet.
Logic follows a precise set of rules.
If you don't know the rules, you're playing life on hard mode.
Take the time to understand the laws of logic.
Tactic
We rarely let our minds experience boredom these days.
It’s a concern because boredom is the wellspring of creativity.
I’m oddly grateful for my childhood were boredom was a frequent companion.
It forced me to entertain myself with imagination. I believe those experiences are still what enable me to tap into creativity and write for you today.
All of that to say, we need ways to unplug and engage our creative muscle.
My favorite method is to go for a walk.
All truly great thoughts are conceived while walking.
There’s a deep connection between walking and creativity, especially when you leave your phone behind.
When I’m walking, I enter a trance and ideation takes over.
It’s effortless and it’s where all my best thoughts come to me.
Pro tip: have a ready way to capture the thoughts or they will vanish.

If someone has what you want, don’t get jealous.
Get inspired.
They are proof it can be done.
If it can be done, you can do it too.
Iron sharpens iron.
Jet fuel.
