Meaning Is Your Compass
A meditation on Purpose
Thought
There are certain tools every human is equipped with, but their use isn’t immediately obvious.
They are the mechanisms God provided to guide you through life. One of these that has become increasingly important to me of late is meaning.
Meaning is a compass that will point you to your True North.
Your North is what you came into this life to accomplish. It’s your purpose in this world.
The more you close the gap between you and your purpose, the richer your life will be. Not rich in the material sense, richer spiritually.
To live a life that feels significant and fruitful will save you. And to live a life of significance, you need to tune into the sense of meaning when it arises within you.
It’s highly individual, that’s how you know it’s for you. What one man finds boring and trivial may be the most important endeavor for another.
So pay close attention and optimize your life towards where you find meaning.
Tactic
The man who put me on the path of meaning is Jordan Peterson.
I attended a lecture of his earlier this year during which he put a frame on life that I call Peterson’s Razor:
Given two options, always choose the most meaningful.
When making consequential life decisions, keep this tactic at the ready.

Travel
Took a road trip up to Denver with my mom this weekend. These are the moments you remember. Do novel, out-of-the-ordinary things with your loved ones.
I hope this week’s 5 T’s have your T levels surging!
