1 Year Of Unrelenting High-T
First anniversary edition
Thought
52 consecutive Mondays and 52 editions later, we’ve reached 1 complete year of the High-T Weekly.
I want to share with you what a full year of bringing you unrelenting High-T has taught me.
The first lesson is on our old friend, Discipline.
A lot happens in a year, and I’ll be honest with you, I didn’t “feel” like writing a new edition every single one of those 52 times.
Some weeks I was fired up and wanted to get my message out there, those were the easy weeks.
Some weeks it seemed I had nothing to say, was too busy with work, was too busy with travel, was sick, was blah blah blah.
A simple definition of discipline is doing what needs to be done independent of feelings.
Discipline is a promise you keep with future you.
Nothing is more High-T than a man who says, “I will,” and then does it.
So, what’s the lesson? When you feel the internal wobble tempting you to break that promise with yourself, your best defense is to remember your Why.
Every man should spend some time reflecting on why he’s doing what he’s doing. This isn’t something you do one time. It needs to be revisited over and over and over again.
If your Why is noble, powerful, important and true, it will cease any wobbling.
The strongest of men will have their Why clear and present at the forefront of their thoughts at all times.
The second lesson is on writing itself.
Writing is a powerful practice. It clarifies and orders your mind. To produce coherent words on a page that other people can understand and find valuable requires a certain level of internal organization.
Writing is a discovery process. I often don’t fully comprehend what I’m trying to say until I’m done writing the piece. I’m laughing to myself as I’m writing this because it’s exactly what’s happening right now, exceptionally meta of me.
The other amazing thing about writing is the impact it can have on other people.
Over the past year, this newsletter has grown by 900+ subscribers. At the time of this writing, about 40% of you open this up and read it every week. That’s 360 people. Only a few years ago, that right was reserved for professional writers working for newspapers or magazines.
Many of you write back and let me know how a particular piece is resonating with you. This is incredibly rewarding.
I value your attention and simply want to say thank you for reading my work.
May your T be ever increasing.
Tactic
I’m going to explain a bit about the format of this newsletter in an effort to inspire you to think of your own framework for weekly writing or some other regular creative process.
As I was saying, a regular writing exercise is a powerful tool of self-discovery.
What clicked for me to make this consistent writing practice possible was coming up with a framework.
It all started with the name:
The High-T Weekly.
You see, journaling never worked for me. I don’t care for writing in a vacuum and enjoy others reading my work. This name came to me and with it a target audience and a message.
My writing is specifically geared towards men and the challenges of being a strong, virtuous man, although there are many female readers and they too can get something from it, having a clear direction and purpose facilitates my creative process.
Then, you may have noticed that each of the section titles start with T.
This is a play on words. This is how I seek to increase your T, get it? It’s important to make what you’re doing fun for you, it generates a more engaging creative process and therefore more entertaining end product for your audience.
Boring its audience is the great sin of any newsletter.

Then I picked categories to write for that are things I care about or want to share with you:
The Thought is always related to what’s going on in my life that week
The Tactic is a useful life hack that I’ve picked up along my path
The Tweet is some content that I produced on Twitter recently that relates to the Thought or Tactic or generally slaps
The Tool is something I use that I think you will benefit from
The Tome is a book I’m reading now or something I’ve read in the past and am currently reflecting on
This newsletter is simply me in digital form. It’s my creative act.
Maybe you’re not a writer, maybe your creative act is something else, but what I do know is that men are born to create more than they consume.
Your life will be fuller and more meaningful if you are creating and putting something of substance out into the world.

If you found this week’s edition valuable, forward it to a man who will benefit from this message.
Hint: every man will benefit.
May your T be ever increasing.
In Victory,
